The binary (executable) "dhclient" inside dhcpd.lrp / dhclient.lrp was patched, it has TTL=128.
Reason:
AT&T cable modem network re-alignment [in June 2002] moved the DHCP server (sometimes) more
than 16 hops away, the original dhclient with default TTL=16 won't work reliably for some AT&T users.
AT&T is now ComCast.
