If your hard disk less than 400 Meg:

(1) Download and save this image file, drag and drop it into a winimage shortcut or
an open winimage window, click File....Write to create a bootable floppy disk.

(2) Caution: this step erases the entire hard disk immediately and permanently,
including all Linux, NTFS and OS/2 partitions.
Boot up using the DOS boot floppy from Step (1).
The following command erases the entire partition table: the hard disk becomes "factory-fresh"
(it will destroy all the data on it as well)
debug   <   killdisk.txt        (Microsoft Knowledgebase reference Q106419)

(3) create a DOS partition:
fdisk        when fdisk asks "Do you want to enable large disk support" Answer  No
next choose "Create DOS partition"
next choose "Create Primary DOS partition"
fdisk will ask "Do you wish to use maximum...":  Answer Yes

(4) Power down, wait 5 seconds,  then power up again.
